BLOOD ORANGE NEGRONI
A twist on the classic Negroni, featuring flavorful Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur and fresh blood orange, served on the rocks. The perfect halloween and fall cocktail!
WHAT IS A NEGRONI?
The Negroni is an orange cocktail originating in Italy and classically made with Campari (bitter orange), Gin and Sweet vermouth. The beauty of the cocktail and one of the reasons it’s so popular, is its versatility and all the variations to the recipe. When thinking of ways to enhance the classic drink for fall, I knew Thatcher’s blood orange liqueur would do just that! The sweetness from the blood orange liqueur smooths the bitterness of the Campari, which is then balanced with fresh blood orange. What makes this version of the Negroni the best, is the usage of small batch liqueur and the fresh blood orange, bringing out the natural flavors of the liqueur and cocktail.
The bats and dry ice also add a halloween twist, fitting for celebrations!
THATCHER’S ORGANIC BLOOD ORANGE LIQUEUR
Thatcher’s Organic blood orange liqueur is the star of this Negroni. Naturally sweet with beautiful citrus flavor and berry notes, the liqueur is derived from all natural and non-GMO ingredients and is also gluten free. In addition to today’s Negroni, the blood orange liqueur would be delicious mixed with any drink you can think of! From Margaritas to martinis and anything in-between, it’s a must addition to your home bar for the fall and winter season.
BLOOD ORANGE NEGRONI INGREDIENTS
The blood orange Negroni is an easy cocktail to make for fall celebrations and happy hour! You only need a few ingredients on hand which I’ve listed below.
- Thatcher’s Organic Blood Orange Liqueur
- High quality gin
- Campari
- Sweet vermouth
- Fresh blood orange and dry ice/decorative bats if you’re feeling festive!
HOW TO MAKE A BLOOD ORANGE NEGRONI
Making a blood orange Negroni is easy and takes just few moments to mix up! Rub the interior of each glass with the blood orange peel. Fill glasses with ice. Pour in the Gin, Thatcher’s Blood Orange Liqueur, Campari and Sweet Vermouth and stir well. Garnish with fresh blood orange and blood orange peel. Add decorative bats and dry ice for a festive Halloween Negroni cocktail!
WORKING WITH DRY ICE
When working with dry ice in cocktails, it’s important to wear protective gloves, or use tongs to transfer the ice into the beverage! The dry ice will create a smoke-like effect when it comes in contact with the liquid, but allow it to dissolve completely before drinking.
Cheers!
