One of the highlights of summer 2021 was traveling with family down to Pacific City, on the Oregon Coast. The small beach town is about 6 hours from our home in Northwest Washington, with beautiful sandy beaches stretching for miles and an amazing view of Haystack Rock. It is located a half hour from the town of Tillamook and is prime for surfing, beach combing and breathing in the ocean air. The town is also conveniently located near restaurants and shops, all just a short walk away.

THINGS TO DO IN PACIFIC CITY, OREGON
There are plenty of activities to enjoy with family while in Pacific City. From hiking and surfing the ocean, to horseback riding, beach combing at Cape Kiwanda and climbing the sand dunes, or just relaxing and sunbathing on the soft sand.
Because we had such a busy summer, we spent most of our time relaxing on the beach, splashing in the ocean and searching for special treasures.
This Oregon sparkling Rosé was one the perfect portable option for the beach!
After all, we were there to celebrate our first family getaway since Covid lockdowns began and much needed quality time together.
Our puppy Marley also had his first beach experience and loved every second of it.
PACIFIC CITY, OREGON WEATHER
The weather in Pacific city was in the mid 60’s, which we enjoyed after leaving close to 100 degree temps back home. The summer nights were breezy and slightly chilly and the mornings often foggy. Somehow the sun managed to peek through the thick morning fog to warm the beach enough during the day for sunbathing. And on a lucky day, the fog lifts enough to see a full view of Haystack Rock.
This lovely capture of my girls, my mom and me. Somehow we color coordinated our outfits without even realizing it, but I’m not surprised because we’re all so close. 3 generations!
OUR WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
My dear husband and I also celebrated our wedding anniversary with a shoot at the beach, followed up by an amazing dinner at Riverhouse Nestucca, which I highly recommend if you’re in the area. We also enjoyed lunch at Pelican Brewery which sits right on the beach, with gorgeous views.

All in all we made the most of our time near the ocean and after visiting, can’t wait to go back in the very near future!
And we couldn’t leave Oregon without a stop at the Tillamook factory for a self guided cheese tour and some ice cream.
Voodoo donuts in Portland and Powell’s bookstore are also a must.
But the beautiful sandy beaches in Pacific City were without question, the highlight of our trip! Have you visited Pacific City or the Oregon Coast before?
More on the way soon!
