7th Birthday Invites – Ice Cream + Beanie Boo
t has been a whirlwind of a week and an exhausting one at that. We just returned home from a last-minute and emotionally challenging, yet rewarding road trip to see family in California and now we’re back to prepping for my daughter’s 7th birthday. I’ve always had several weeks to plan parties, so only having 1 week is something new for me. Regardless, what’s most important is the reason we’re putting this celebration together, and that’s for our sweet girl.
I had intentions of sharing the final invites with you all last week, but still had more to send out so I had to hold off until now. Talk about last-minute. I think I broke all party etiquette rules this year by sending the invites out less than 1 week before the celebration (insert emojis here). Who does that?! So not like me. I typically follow the 3-4 week rule of thumb, but sometimes things are just out of our control. I’ve been reminded of that a lot these last few weeks. I have to keep telling myself to just roll with the punches.
Now for the invites. I used one of my favorite photos from our recent 7 year birthday shoot (more on that soon) as the inspiration for the design, paired with a color scheme of pink & aqua. Of course I had to tie in a few posh details, including the ice cream truck with glitter wheels. If we were ever to own an ice cream truck it would certainly have glitter wheels.
Since our theme is all about beanie boos, incorporating her party mascot (Kiki) into the “booth day” invites was a must. The cute polka-dot manicure by grandma matched perfectly.
This is how it looks paired with the envelope.
Today I also worked on a little custom confetti. I combined iridescent sequins with white and pink poms, teal & pink punched paper, gold quins, googly eyeballs (beanie boo eyes) and printed ice cream cones to make up her confetti mix. I can’t wait to sprinkle it all over the tables when it’s party time.
Thanks for reading you guys! Just 4 days to go! I’ll be sharing more party deets soon.

Can’t wait, it’s going to be so good and I know Amaia will have so much fun. You always manage to find the posh, the sweet and the celebratory in what just seems ordinary, you turn it into extraordinary. :) And in spite of the challenges you’ve faced and all the hectic, run, run and do, do, you’ve managed to put together another awesome, original and creative event. It’s going to be a great celebration
Thank you mom! Can’t believe how fast this party rolled around. Regardless of anything else going on, we will absolutely make it work! Looking forward to celebrating with you!
