Love and….loss
Hi friends. I wasn’t quite ready to share this news in my previous post, but here goes. Last week I unexpectedly lost one of the closest people to me, my dear uncle Wayne. He was a retired Batallion Chief that lived his life in service of others and had a heart of pure gold.
We may have called him Uncle Wayne, but he was so much more than an uncle to my siblings and I.
He graciously took on the role as a father figure when my dad passed 17 years ago, and his presence and love changed my life.
Uncle Wayne was always there to give support and the best, oftentimes very humorous advice. He made a point to never miss any of the significant moments in my life, like watching me graduate, and walking me down the aisle.
I so wish so much that I had more time with him.
Our chats and visits brought me so much happiness and he was truly an inspiration to me and so many.
Grief is such a crazy emotion. There are so many ups, downs and in-betweens, I just have to remember to take things day by day.
My hope this week is to share some of the projects that I’ve started. I’ll be traveling to California soon, but my sweet girl’s 7th birthday coming up in less than two weeks, so I have much to update you on. Luckily I got all the invitations done and will have those coming up in a post later this week, along with a little inspiration as well.
Being honest, I questioned whether I should post something so personal and close to my heart, but he was such an important man and had such an impact on my life that I type these words with pride and gratitude.
I’m so very grateful for the bond that we shared…I’m just having a hard time figuring out how to live my life without him.

Sharing more soon.
