Happy May! April went by in a flash! We moved into our new home (finally!) I got my splint off (yay) and we took a much-needed trip with our girls to Disneyland. Have you been before?
After two years of building our forever home, family time was so necessary!
You may have seen some posts from our Disney adventures over on instagram, but I wanted to share them here too! This was our second trip to Disney. The first time we went our girls were too young to go on most of the rides. We had a fabulous experience this time around though!
By the time we made it to the park, we ditched our original plans and decided to wing it. The Disney ride app made it easy for us to keep track of wait times, which were super long, so it really came in handy.
We met characters, had lunch with the princesses (thanks to a suggestion from a friend), got drenched on Grizzly Peak and frightened while in the Haunted Mansion.
We also enjoyed the sweetest french macarons from Jolly Holiday Bakery.
My girls loved It’s a Small World, Goofy’s Sky School
and the symphony swings, that I totally chickened out on.
If I could pick a favorite ride, I’d definitely choose Soarin’ Around the World. This one’s over in California Adventure park and takes you on a journey while still in your seat. You see everything from the Eiffel Tower and Sydney Harbor to the Pyramids in Egypt. It’s pretty incredible how realistic it feels, from the aromas filling the air in each city journeyed through, to the up close and birds-eye view of all the monuments. Totally worth the wait!
Now is it just me or is there something super magical about walking through the streets of Disneyland?!
Some of my favorite moments included seeing the Sleeping Beauty Castle all lit up at dusk, and watching my girls dance to the music at the parade.
The photo below accurately depicts how we all felt after 9 miles of walking in 93 degree heat.
Time by the pool the next day was much deserved. Flamingo floats included!
#poolside.
Visiting nearby Huntington Beach was also a must for us. We found plenty of treasures and enjoyed that salty air!
Our last day in California was spent brunching with my dear sister who lives in the area, and munching on macarons from Bottega Louie.
It was a lovely way to end a magical weekend!
And now back to work! I’ll be getting back to my regular blogging schedule and also reopening the shop this week.
My daughter’s 5th birthday is coming up too, so I’ll have details on her party plans and theme here soon.
