Dream Dining Space

It’s been a while since I’ve given you guys an update on our new home in progress, so here’s a little behind the scenes look for you.

Construction - New Home | Posh Little Designs

The framing is finally complete, the roof and all windows are in and the electrical and plumbing is nearing completion (hooray!) The plumbing has gone a bit slower than anticipated, but fortunately May will be here shortly, which means we should be ready for radiant floors and drywall very soon.

We’ve been spending a lot of time at our new house lately and I’ve been daydreaming about what life will be like once we’re finally moved in and settled. It’s kind of hard to see from the photo, but our new living space is designed for entertaining (so thrilled), with a great room and a large deck off the living room.  We’re to the point where we get to start picking colors, lighting and finishes, so putting together wish lists is a must!

Since the dining room will be one of the main gathering spots in our new home and also the focal point from the front entry, our plan is to add some statement pieces to the wide open space. Drawing inspiration from the gorgeous Design Within Reach furniture and decor, I put together a collection of dream pieces that completely suit our aesthetic, and would certainly add some wow factor to our new home.

My ultimate dining room wish list.

With a mix of modern elegance, clean lines and neutral colors, all of these pieces from DWR complement our aesthetic to perfection.  The dreamy Cellula Chandelier is at the very top of my list and I’m sure you can see why! I’m obsessed with the contemporary design and Swarovski crystal pendants. It would look beautiful hanging above a dining table in a similar rectangular shape (like the one seen above) and would instantly dress up any space. I chose the chic Etch silver candle holders in the geodesic shape for ambiance.

Black matte flatware is my new fave and the sleek black serving tray is perfect for entertaining! Both would add a nice color contrast to the rest of the neutral tones we plan to incorporate into our open dining space.

The cream Milo Baughman chairs with polished stainless steel are everything! Although maybe not suitable for my girls. Fortunately for me, they come in many colors.

Color glass stemware with golden accents (because I’m a champagne lover at heart.)

The must have cream cowhide rug rounds out my D I N E wish list.

Cohesive, elegant, modern & timeless.
