New Home – Light at the End of the Tunnel
One of the things we look forward to the most right now on the weekends is visiting our new home. The anticipation of the changes and the excitement of all the pieces coming together is incredibly thrilling! I feel like a kid on Christmas every time we pull into the driveway.
Over the last few months we’ve experiences some delays with our plumbing, so it was such a good feeling to stop by and see some visual progress last weekend!
Starting with our new garage door. Isn’t funny the things that can excite us? I know its only a garage door, but this has been my favorite update so far. Maybe because its bright white (unlike our existing home), and contemporary with windows along the right side, just as we envisioned it. In some ways it’s installation brought with it a glimpse into what life will be like when we’re finally living there. A sense of completion and a reminder that there’s a light at the end of our home building tunnel, which has been a long drawn out, nearly 3 year process.
So hey, why not have my hubby take a few photos…impromptu style.
When I think about it now, I foresee this being our backdrop for plenty of photo shoots in the near future.
Another great update we got to see was our home’s siding, which has been somewhat of a tedious job for the workers! The 4 inch reveal along with the horizontal and diagonal lines have taken some time to go up, so our appreciation to them for all of their hard work!
And last but not least, our floors. They’ve been prepped for radiant heating which is happening this weekend. Actually when we stopped in yesterday they had already finished installing the tubing on the 2nd story.
Just one step closer to living there and I cannot wait for drywall which is next in line, once the concrete slab is poured. Ok, so probably not the most exciting for some, but just a peek into my life and what I’m up to when I’m not working in the shop, or on the blog.

I’m so excited family Brandi! Every step done is one step closer to completion. I can understand why you feel like a child on Christmas morning. The Home is looking stunning just as you and your family will look teogether in your new home. Exciting times.
