I hope you’ve all had a lovely week! It’s been a hectic one for me, so I’m truly looking forward to the weekend and a much-needed celebration with my hubs for Valentine’s Day, but first, an easy hearts day DIY for those of you still in need of a quick gift!

You’ll easily melt the hearts of your gals or guys with this simple to make raspberry & strawberry hot cocoa mix. It’s full of fruit and chocolate flavor and fitting for the season, even complete with pink edible glitter hearts for a touch of posh! This hot cocoa is like giving away little packs of X’s & O’s, that will warm you up on the inside. Each mix includes enough hot cocoa for 4+ servings, and takes just moments to assemble. Add some handwritten or typed labels and they’re ready for sweet gifting.

HOT COCOA LOVE MIX

S U P P L I E S / I N G R E D I E N T S

3 x 4 inch resealable bags

2 tbsp all natural cocoa powder (I chose Hershey’s Special Dark)

4 tbsp organic powdered sugar

2 cups of freeze-dried strawberries or raspberries ground down into a powder. Use 2 tbsp for each pack.

Edible glitter hearts.

Small funnel.

Plain adhesive labels for packaging and instructions.

A S S E M B L Y I N S T R U C T I O N S

Using a coffee grinder or magic blender, grind your freeze-dried fruit into a powder and set aside.

Place your small funnel into your resealable bag and pour in your ingredients one at a time, starting with the cocoa powder, followed by the powdered sugar, dried strawberry/raspberry powder and lastly your edible glitter hearts.

Gently remove the air from each bag of cocoa mix zip seal.

S E R V I N G I N S T R U C T I O N S

For serving, pour contents of each cocoa packet into a bowl and stir.

Bring 1 cup of milk of choice (I chose Vanilla Almond which is lightly sweetened ) to a boil and slowly whisk in 2 tbsp of your cocoa mix.

Stir mix and cocoa mixture until thoroughly combined.

Pour into your favorite mug and enjoy!

(put the remaining cocoa mix back into the bag to store for next time.)

You can handwrite your labels and instructions on each packet, or quickly create some in photoshop. I always prefer to print mine.

I’m so loving the layered look of the cocoa mix! Even when the ingredients starts to blend, it still looks gorge!
