Reflection & Connection
The holidays came and went quickly and now here we are two weeks in to 2025. While Christmas is our favorite season, January’s reset is indeed welcome and refreshing. It’s also typically the slowest month of the year, allowing time for reflection and preparation. Since 2025 promises to bring changes to the industry and social media, connection and community have never been more important, which is why it was a priority to share the ways we can stay connected, while reflecting on highlights from 2024.
Reflection
Family Traditions
We took advantage of all the time we could share together as a family, during the holidays 2024. Although the season flew by, we enjoyed our favorite traditions, such as family photos for Christmas cards, with our puppy Marley included!
Marley is the sweetest family member and loves to be a part of all the activities we do, from Christmas lights to travels across the border.

Christmas decorations
Unpacking Christmas boxes and decorating our home was the best way to get into the Christmas spirit so quickly after Thanksgiving. This year I replaced some of our old decorations with new, in holiday silver, green and gold,

also refreshing ornaments, with new dye cut paper styles from West Elm.

Baking
Baking is another tradition we enjoy during the holidays. Throughout December, we baked a variety of sweet treats, from cookies to macarons, and they came together sweetly as displayed in the festive holiday platter.

Recipes
In addition to the holidays, I baked and photographed many new macarons and cookies in 2024, sharing simplified recipes for you all to try, such as these Peppermint Sugar cookies.

And Cranberry Vanilla Bean Macarons.

Business
2024 was a productive year in business. I am so grateful to continue working with incredible clients,

highlighting their brands through elevated baking, professional photography and videography.

This continues to be the heart of Posh Little Designs and will be one of the main focuses as we transition and settle into the new year.
Transition
Speaking of transition, so much has happened in the U.S. so far in 2025. From the TikTok ban, and political shifts, to the tragic fires in Los Angeles, many of us are feeling greatly impacted. Although we have no control over these circumstances, we can support one another by continuing to build community and keeping conversations active, through social connections, unity and safe spaces.
Posh Little Designs will continue to be a safe space in the community. I will also continue to use my platform to speak out and share resources relating to current events and important matters.
Connection
In an effort to stay connected, I’ve referenced all the social media platforms that I currently use below, with a link to each of my pages, if you feel so inclined to follow. This way we can continue to support each other no matter how the social landscape shifts.

Social Media Platforms
TikTok @poshdesigns
By now we are all aware of the impending TikTok ban, set to take place this Sunday on January 19th. Through research I learned there’s a chance the ban may be extended, but in the event that it’s not, the community we’ve built together there will be gone. This is unfathomable for so many small business reliant on TikTok for income, which is just one of the many reasons users are fighting back. TikTok is a unique platform. The level of connection there is rare and cannot be replicated by existing social channels.
I’ve been on TikTok since 2020 and I am truly grateful for the kind support I have received, but I also appreciate the unfiltered information accessible to all.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sobbed, laughed, felt seen, moved, empowered, and a part of something greater while using TikTok. A movement if you will, and a powerful one at that. No matter what happens, I’m thankful to all who’ve supported me there and so glad to have experienced and learned from technology that has transformed how we communicate, support, create, run our businesses and receive information.
Lemon8 @poshdesigns
I’ve been on Lemon8 for some time now. The platform is very similar to instagram and Pinterest in a sense that it’s a photo and video sharing app, just without all of the ads. I’ve recently heard that the app (also owned by Byte Dance) has potential to also be banned, but I will continue posting there and likely more often if it sticks around. I hope to see you there.
Instagram @poshlittledesigns
I have been on Instagram since 2012 and remember when the app was full of filtered square photos, that we enjoyed along with our chronological feeds and new creative connections in the industry. It has since morphed into nearly every other social app available, all while losing the essence and identity of what made it great to begin with. That aside, I absolutely adore the community built on IG. I’m there for the community of amazing artists, bakers, bloggers, stylists, photographers, cookiers, clients, friends and followers who make the space so wonderful.
Since Meta recently eliminated the ability to follow hashtags, our reach has once again been drastically impacted. Not to mention the elimination of fact checking, which is a tremendous concern. Propaganda and misinformation is only going to make the app less trustworthy, causing confusion and more frustration, impacting people of color and other minority groups negatively. While I’ll be sticking it out and plan to share without interruption, I’m paying close attention to these changes and I hope you do too.
Pinterest@poshlittledesigns
I have been using Pinterest since around 2013 and it is consistently wonderful, unproblematic, and a fantastic tool for growing your brand. You can easily create images that will connect back to your website to improve web traffic, all while sharing and discovering new and beautiful imagery. Pinterest is certainly not as social, but it’s such a light and lovely platform to use. If I could rate one app the highest this one would be at the top. Find me there for new inspiration.
Threads @poshlittledesigns
Due to uncensored rhetoric, hate speech and propaganda I’ve moved far away from Twitter and recently gave Threads a try. It reminds me much of what Twitter used to be like prior to its acquisition, and I have enjoyed it. Although I haven’t gotten into a posting rhythm there yet, it is one of my goals for 2025 and I hope you join me there!
Youtube @poshlittledesigns
It has been years since I’ve used Youtube and the content I’ve shared there is old, but I’ve heard it’s another tool worth taking advantage of and one I hope to spend time working on going forward.
Lastly, poshlittledesigns.com.
Through all the years of blogging, I’ve learned that owning your own website and having control of your content is not only vital to running a successful brand, but such a valuable asset as well. Not only for connection, but for growth and opportunity. With social media ever-changing, diversification is key, so if a platform shuts down (or gets banned) you can maintain control of your workflow, subscribers and content without interruption. New Years Eve Macaron Cube Cake
That brings me to my final bake of 2024. It was this New Year’s Eve macaron cube cake, featuring 36 macarons with royal icing decorated clocks to represent the countdown to 2025.

As our time appears to have run out on TikTok, this macaron cube is a fitting farewell to the platform, however I hope we can remain in touch through all the platforms referenced above. You can also subscribe to my blog, for weekly updates and new recipes!
Cheers to a new year ahead and thank you for being a part of my journey.
