Summer 17
Happy September to you all! Have you started transitioning to Fall yet? I’m probably one of the few people that’s not quite ready for summer to end. Actually If I had it my way, I’d keep it around a little longer, although I do love the excitement that a new season brings. Fall layers and cozy sweaters, warm cups of chai and matcha, cider, ghost pumpkins, pale rose blooms, football and my all time favorite apple crisp! But before I jump too far ahead, I’d like to bid summer adieu, with highlights from my favorite moments this season.
Summer 17
It was a summer for the books! One that involved plenty of quality time with my family. We didn’t travel far, but enjoyed day trips and one getaway to Lake Chelan in July. We went to bed late, slept in each morning and our girls had plenty of good sister time. We celebrated birthdays and anniversaries and simple moments in-between, which were all so good for the soul!
Pool floats and patio umbrellas were high on the priority list this summer as was the time on our back deck, which quickly became our hang out spot for the season.
On many nights, we indulged in s’mores and tall glasses of rosรฉ, while watching the sun go down.
We loved using Smash Mallow Marshmallows and gourmet chocolate to make our s’mores.
Hibiscus mint popsicles topped with champagne were my go-to beverage/treat.
Summer was a great first season to spend in our new home, because we had down time and were able to cross many projects off our list! Though our summer glow is starting to fade with the weather change, it was fun while it lasted.
Sneaking away for a lunch date up at Ladurรฉe Vancouver in late summer was one of my favorite moments.
Especially after trying this rose champagne cocktail.
Of course we couldn’t leave without bringing home all the macaron flavors. Perfect for my freezer stash!
Looking back, I’m not sure much could top the last few months, but I have a feeling Fall and the upcoming holidays will be memorable too, just in a different way! What I am looking forward to most is getting back into the kitchen, testing out some new recipes and pulling out my cool weather wardrobe. Although I will miss my off the shoulder dresses, I’m all about those fall layers!
Friday is the first day of Fall, so the count down is on!
