November is one of my favorite months of the year. It’s the start of the holidays and also the month of birthday! My birthday actually happens to be today, the 7th, so I made a quick and easy cocktail to celebrate turning thirty eight! When I spell out the numbers, they certainly don’t seem as big, so I’ll stick with that while embracing this new trip around the sun! Today I’m raising a glass to a great year, with a sparkling vanilla macaron cocktail inspired by my favorite dessert!
If we’ve been connected here for a while, you’ve most likely heard about how much I love macarons. I had my first macaron on my birthday 7 years ago and have been baking up batches ever since! Considering that I had my first macaron on my birthday, what better way to celebrate?!
Sparkling Vanilla Macaron Cocktail
A sparkling dessert cocktail with hints of vanilla and almond, as an ode to my personal favorite treat, the French macaron. Topped with champagne and a vanilla macaron garnish.
If you a love french macarons and champagne, then this cocktail is for you! Simple, yet chic, with flavors that will transport you to your favorite french patisserie! It’s like the best of both worlds in dessert beverage form, complete with a macaron to finish off the drink!
How the macaron cocktail tastes
The cocktail is made with a splash of premium almond syrup, vanilla vodka, fresh lemon juice and sparkling champagne, then garnished with a vanilla macaron! This is a sweet, effervescent, dessert beverage with notes of vanilla throughout. The almond syrup takes on the flavor of the macaron shell, the creamy vanilla vodka acts as the filling and the sparkling champagne smooths out the sweetness.
Simply, pour, shake and enjoy!
Vanilla Macarons
If time is on your side, you can whip up a batch of vanilla macarons for this cocktail, by following my recipe here. Store bought macarons are also an easy option for garnishing this quick cocktail!
Disclaimer: I initially served this macaron cocktail in a champagne coupe which I do not recommend, because the macaron garnish ended up soaking in the drink and eventually turning soggy. I chose to reshoot the photos using in a taller glass, to suit the garnish, but ended up including both so you can see more of my process.
Here’s what not to do!

Vanilla Frosting
Again, if you choose to make the macarons for this cocktail homemade, check out my recipe for vanilla frosting here!
You’ll love that this macaron cocktail is quick to make and a fabulous one to share with friends! It’s also a great beverage option for the holiday season, with simple elegance and unique flavor!
I recommend serving in a tall, wine highball glass to avoid the macaron from touching the actual beverage, that way you can enjoy while you sip!
If you plan to make one of your own, I’d love to hear about it!
As I reflect on the past year, I do so with gratitude and an open heart. It has been a big 12 months of growth for me personally and in business and with new goals on the horizon, I look forward to the journey ahead and thank you all very much for following along!
