Six trips around the sun, six of the best years. Oh how special it is to watch our Mila grow! Even on the not so sunny days she finds a way to smile and inspires us to do the same.
Each year around her birthday we look forward to a little photoshoot. This has become a tradition for both my girls and the pics are always so fun to look back on! With all the pink cherry blossom petals on the ground, the timing of our shoot couldn’t have been better. They really make for a beautiful backdrop.
We used a few photo props, like a jumbo balloon, treat boxes and macarons to tie in her party theme.
Plus squeezed in a few photos with big sis, cause this mama just couldn’t resist.
To get more of a feel for her party theme, I’m revealing the invitations that I designed for her celebration. Pink and gold + macarons. It’s gonna be a sweet party to pull together as we prepare to celebrate next weekend!
Her macaron party is inspired by our trip to Bottega Louis in 2017. With that inspiration in mind, we found a sweet pink dress and jellies for her to wear for pics!
Mila absolutely loves the color pink and is the girliest girl I know. She has a unique sense of style and an independence that is so special to witness. She’s an old soul, with the best sense of humor in a care free/free-spirited kind of way. Her happiness radiates outward and lights up the world around her and her hugs, oh my goodness her hugs are the best ever!
This year she’s learned to ride her bike, learned to read and she wants to be a mama when she grows up!
As I sit and reflect, I’m reminded that the years with our girls may be going by quickly, but it’s only because of the ways they complete our lives. I do my best to hold onto the moments and I wouldn’t change a second of our journey. Even when the days are long, even through tears, injuries and illness. My daughter’s have shaped me to be the mom that I am today and as we approach Mother’s Day and celebrate her birthday, I’m certainly feeling all the feels.
It was this exact day (Friday) six years ago, that Mila was born. I distinctly remember the emotion as if it were yesterday. She was unexpectedly born on my father’s birthday, and he passed when I was 17. For those reasons and so much more, this is always a very meaningful weekend for me and all of us as a family.

Mila’s requested a sushi dinner and an ice-cream sundae bar for later. Now we can’t wait to start celebrating and certainly can’t wait to see what this new year ahead for her will bring!
Happy Birthday to our baby girl!
I also want to wish all the wonderful mama’s that I know a Happy Mother’s Day!! I hope you’re all celebrated the way that you deserve.
