Napa
Last month my hubby and I celebrated 10 years of marriage and I’m still pinching myself!! We’ve come such a long way since meeting back in high school at ages 15 and 17. Now that we have two girls, our schedules and to-do lists seem to be more hectic than ever. We often miss out on time to celebrate each other, so when he surprised me with weekend trip to Napa, just us two, I was elated!
Upon our arrival at Andaz Napa, a gorgeous hotel that’s conveniently located in the heart of downtown, we were greeted with two glasses of much deserved wine. When we entered our room, I was instantly reminded of the day we said I do. To my surprise it was overflowing with the phaelaenopsis orchids from our wedding.
Because we had such a short stay in Napa, we wasted no time kicking off our celebratory weekend! Domaine Chandon in Yountville was the first stop on our list and we absolutely loved our time there! We got to choose from 3 different types of champs each, which of course included Rosรฉ (my fav.) Domaine Chandon offers a unique setup for guests. Once you’ve paid for your tasting, you can take your glass outdoors to their open seating area. You can also choose from a variety of appetizer options on the menu which is always enjoyable while tasting.
After leaving Domaine Chandon, we stopped at Buchon in Yountville for macarons. It’s become a tradition for my hubby and I to try the macarons in every city that we visit, so we happily waited the 30 minutes in the heat for these babies. They were giant in size and super delish!
Later that afternoon temps soared over 100 degrees, so the hat came off. I opted for an easy braided look instead. Wearing my fave kimono from the H&M Coachella Collection as well.
Did you know?
We noticed and laughed at the above sign along our walk to a few of the tasting rooms near the Oxbow Public Market. We stopped at Uncorked at Oxbow and Mason Cellars and truly enjoyed their variety of whites as well as their wonderful hospitality.
That evening we dined at the amazing Farm Restaurant at Carneros Inn which exceeded our expectations. I chose a LWD (little white lace dress) with black Pour la Victoire booties for my outfit of the night.

It didn’t take long for us to discover how incredible the dining in Napa is. I’ve never in my life had such delicious food! Everything from the food trucks, to the fancy 5 star restaurants left us feeling very spolied. We ate plenty of farm to table fresh meals and organics. The flavors and quality of everything we tried truly made for an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts with homemade english muffins at Hotel Andaz and looked forward to the small bites on their terrace in the afternoons. It was refreshing to have so many food options considering my dietary limitations. Pork, Beef, (mostly) Dairy and Soy free. And of course service was impeccable!
Taking in the scenic views of the rolling hills and vineyards on our way out to Mumm Napa.

Once we arrived, we were promptly seated and ready to choose from the tasting menu. We selected two different tastings which included 7 sparkling wines total. The atmosphere and attendants were top notch and we even got to walk through the the fine art photography exhibits featuring Ben Nixon and Ansel Adams, while enjoying our rosรฉ. If you have yet to go to Mumm in Napa, and love sparkling wine, I highly recommend visiting! It will not disappoint!
We also made it to Frog’s Leap, Long Meadow Ranch & V. Sattui that afternoon, with tastings and atmosphere’s all unique. After all the tastings in Napa I still haven’t swayed from my personal favorites, Sauvingnon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvingnon.
I do wish we had more time to experience some of the iconic wineries such as Castello di Amorosa and Robert Mondavi, but it was nice to visit the quieter and less crowded boutiques, which is much more my hubby and I’s vibe anyways. Of course after such an incredible 1st trip we plan to make it one of our frequent travel destinations!
Thanks for reading! Have you been to Napa before? If so, what were your favorite dining and tasting experiences?
Now that we’re past the 1st week in September, I think I’ve finally accepted the fact that Fall has arrived! That being said, look for plenty of Fall related posts and inspiration here soon!
