It’s so refreshing, effervescent and will have you dreaming of the Amalfi Coast with every sip! Serve up this spritz poolside, at dinner parties or simply enjoy while soaking up the sun on your patio! Add fresh garden herbs such as thyme and you have a quintessential summer cocktail on your hands!
Limoncello Spritz
A trendy Italian aperitif, mixed with Limoncello, fresh squeezed lemon, Prosecco and club soda. Garnished with garden thyme.
If you’ve not yet tried Limoncello and are wondering what the flavor profiles are, I’ve got your covered!
What is Limoncello?
Limoncello is an Italian lemon liqueur infused with a mix of lemon peel, sugar, water and clear liquor. On its own Limoncello has bite from the lemon peel, but wonderful citrusy flavor. It is most often produced in Southern Italy but can also easily be made in your own kitchen! I’ve made a batch of Limoncello in the past, using vodka, lemons, sugar and water and it worked like a charm. Although limoncello is delicious on its own, over ice it will also be enjoy mixed into any cocktails of choice, such as today’s Limoncello Spritz!
How does a Limoncello Spritz taste?
The limoncello spritz is so vibrant and refreshing over ice, with lovely aroma and tart lemon flavor throughout. Prosecco is naturally a wonderful pairing for the Limoncello because of its fruit and floral notes, so the flavors are like a match made in heaven. The addition of the thyme garnish and splash of fresh squeezed lemon juice elevates the spritz to new heights, resulting in the most delicious effervescent summer sip!

Limoncello, such a lovey summer drink whether it’s over ice or served up as a Spritz. Refreshing, delicious and lovely . I love how you personalize the process of making it for over ice or to enjoy with Prosecco. Even the tips on what herbs to use based off preferences is so helpful. Beautifully photographed and styled too!
