Description

Garden thyme infused margaritas paired with freshly squeezed lime juice, tequila, homemade thyme simple syrup, Cointreau (or orange liqueur), served on the rocks with a classic salted rim.


Ingredients

Scale

FOR THE THYME SIMPLE SYRUP:

1/2 cup raw sugar

2 cups water

56 sprigs or one bunch of fresh thyme

FOR THE THYME INFUSED MARGARITAS

3 oz (1.5 parts each glass) Tequila of choice

3 oz (1.5 parts each glass) Thyme infused simple syrup

3 oz (1.5 parts each glass) fresh squeezed lime juice

2 oz (1 part each glass) Cointreau or orange liqueur

Ice

Fresh thyme sprigs, lime wheels and kosher salt for garnish


Instructions

FOR THE THYME SIMPLE SYRUP:

Heat the sugar, water and thyme on the stove top to a rolling boil.

Boil for 2-3 minutes then remove from heat and set aside to cool and allow the flavors to continue mingling.

The syrup will keep for up to 4 weeks in a sealed container in the fridge.

FOR THE THYME INFUSED MARGARITAS:

Rim 2 glasses with kosher salt then fill with ice.

Pour 1.5 parts Tequila into each glass.

Top with 1.5 parts thyme simple syrup.

Then pour in 1.5 parts lime juice in to each glass.

Followed by 1 part Cointreau into each glass.

Gently stir and garnish with fresh lime wheels and garden thyme.

Serve and enjoy!
