Each year in October, I look forward to taking part in Mt. Baker Imaging’s Mammogram party! This is an annual event put on in my home town during breast cancer awareness month, to encourage women to get their annual mammogram. Women who come in and either schedule or complete their mammogram are congratulated with goodies and gift bags, and then have the opportunity to shop with some fab vendors and even get pink hair extensions.
Here’s a look at my booth and many of the products I had available for purchase from my shop! I offered everything for sale from paper straws and cookie cutters, to candles, baking cups, plates and sprinkles.
No event is complete without fresh flowers! I incorporated some of my favorites, (roses) into vases and blush goblets for display. I also made a pretty floral arrangement using a small white pumpkin. This is such an easy DIY! Simply, cut open your pumpkin and scoop out all the seeds. Fill with water and then add cut flowers. Mine lasted for nearly a week, with a fresh water replacement every few days.
Instead of making sugar cookies again this year, I opted for something different, french macarons. I baked and packaged them up and offered them to event goers for charity donation. My macs were a fitting shade of pink and white, and filled with homemade strawberry jam. I finished them with BCA themed words and hand drawn pink ribbons for the cure.
Since I have this thing for cake stands, I used my favorites to hold and display many of my products. The pink tassel garland seen above, hung from a white jumbo balloon.
It’s an honor to be invited to this event year after year and to be a part of a cause that’s so incredibly important! We experienced an awesome turnout this year and beat last year’s mammogram record! The mayor even stopped in this time! I’ll be donating a portion of all proceeds from my sales, as well as the sales in my shop for the last week of October to Team Julia.
Happy hump day! I’m anticipating the weekend’s arrival as my birthday just happens to be on Saturday!
More on that soon!
