Today I made these adorable Peppermint White Chocolate ‘Kisses’, using St. Patrick’s Day and the term “Kiss Me I’m Irish” as my form of inspiration.
To add a posh dimension, I used an ombre color scheme, which is a trend that I absolutely love right now. The shaded affect offers a unique element, which as you can see, looks beautiful when displayed.
And the best part of all…(other than eating them of course) is that they only require 3 ingredients to make! So simple.
Peppermint White Chocolate Kisses
1. Natural Peppermint Oil
2. 2 boxes Baker’s Premium White Chocolate Squares (10 squares total.)
3. Green Food Coloring.
5 sandwich ziplocks.
Line cookie sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
Heat 10 squares of white chocolate in double boiler or in microwave for 30 second intervals until melted.
Add in 1/4 tsp peppermint oil and stir well (you can always add more if you like a stronger peppermint flavor.)
Divide the chocolate between 5 small bowls.
For ombre shades:
Leave the first bowl of divided chocolate white. Add 1/2 a drop of green food coloring to the second bowl. Add 2 drops of food coloring to the third bowl. Add 4 drops of food coloring to the fourth bowl and 8 drops of food coloring to the *5th bowl.
Stir well until food coloring is completely incorporated.
*You may notice the chocolate beginning to seize up a bit on the 5th bowl however this is ok because it should end up being the exact consistency that you’ll need the chocolate at when you pipe the kisses.
Other than bowl number 5, you will want to let your chocolate cool for about 10 minutes so it is the proper consistency for piping.
Once cooled and thickened a bit, spoon each bowl of shaded chocolate into the corner of a ziplock bag.
Snip the corner of the bag with scissors and begin piping the chocolate onto parchment paper using a circular motion to form each kiss. Repeat for all 5 bowls.
Place in fridge immediately to harden for at least 1 hour.
These are best served chilled.
